Moving a thermostat

Is it possible to move this sort of thermostat to another location within my house. We have just moved from a rented property which had the same make thermostat but we were able to transport it into whatever room we wanted. We kept it in the living room as this is where we generally spend the most time.

The reason I want to move it is that it is currently in our hallway near to the front door which is in general one of the coldest areas of the house. I know nothing about how these work but I have assumed that the temperature guage is within the unit as opposed to the boiler itself?

I thought that by moving the thermostat into another room would mean that it would give a more accurate temp reading and signal to the boiler that it can idle once the programmed temp had been reached. Currently the boiler stays on and according to the thermostat, only ever gets to 18 degrees when our living room and bedrooms are a much higher temperature.

Any advice (and common sense) would be hugely appreciated 👍🏻 This is my first property and I'm still trying to understand everything
